It is not wrong to say that California is the dream destination for most people around the world. This land of Hollywood and the Yosemite certainly has some kind of excitement and thrill for everyone, all across the world. But the state is so huge and diverse that any traveler might find it a forbidding experience to be in it! Here’s a short California travel guide to help you though.
Hollywood is definitely one of the topmost places that you must check out when you are in California. You could get a whiff of how the movies are made by checking out some of the big studios that exist here. Check out the studios of Universal, Paramount and Warner Bros.
and you will know the blood, sweat, tears and creativity that go into making all those wonderful movies. The best place that you need to visit when you are here is the Sunset Strip. Check out the extravagant nightlife here if you have the partying bug in you, and you won’t come away disappointed, for sure.
One of the best Disneylands in the world is in California. This is a grand place to take your entire family. If you have already visited the Disneyland in Florida, this one in California should not be missed. Another great family spot is the San Diego Zoo. There are about 800 different species of animals in this zoo, which can keep your family quite amused and entertained.
California is probably best known for the sprawling Yosemite National Park. Not as large as its cousin in Wyoming, the Yellowstone National Park, but this is a must-experience park anyway. Look out for its marvelously formed granite cliffs and the dozens of death-defying waterfalls that you will find here. If you have always heard of the Giant Sequoia trees but have never seen them up close, this is the place where you could be awed by them.
The state of California is a coastal state and as such it is known for its beach life. There are numerous beaches here, but the best ones to visit are the Laguna Beach which is nicknamed as the West Coast Riviera and the Malibu Beach.
Go sail-boating on the Marina del Ray or on the Lake Tahoe which is a lake that’s above usual seal level. For some marvelous nature photography, nothing tops the Shasta Lake, which has a wonderful backdrop of the Mount Shasta.
Though California is a relatively southern state, it does have its share of snow action seasonally. The Squaw Valley has a lot of ski action. For adventure travelers, there are options for hiking, biking, trekking and rock climbing almost throughout the state. |
